HI, i am running for my county later this month i can currentley do 200m in 26 sec but would like to improve this as i do not think it is that good i mainly need help mon how to run it best and how to train for it better! thanks. x200m running advice and training help?
Ok. first, you need to analyse your race into where you are strongest and weakest. For example if you are slow out of your blocks and quick in the home straight, then you need to practice lots of block starts with a gun. Or if you are very quick off the line, but tie up in the home straight, then you need speed endurance work. I would recommend a session like 8x150m with 3mins recovery walk back,at 100% effort. Practice sustained speed with a session like 500m, 400m, 300m, all with 8mins recovery at 100%. If you think you are just not fast enough and your whole race is ok, but not brilliant, then improve your flat out speed with 60m sprints.200m running advice and training help?

run 100m sprints followed by 300m jogs as many times as you think you should. I suggest trying 5 at first depending on your ability.
