Adopt a rabbit! It gets you the rabbit pet you want, and saves a rabbit's life. Many rabbits are put to sleep because there are so many and not enough people adopting them. And adopting them is a great benefit to you as well, you will know for sure their sex, as well as most shelters spay or neuter their rabbits before you are allowed to take them home. So you don't have to worry about that. If you want to know all the pro's and con's as well as what it takes to be a really good owner, read Rabbits for Dummies. It will give you a lot of very useful information. Also check out http://language.rabbitspeak.com/ to get a better understanding of how rabbits interact with each other and will ultimately interact with you.

Rabbits can be an absolute joy! But they are also a lot of work. Learn as much as you can about them before you get them.

p.s. One of mine is a holland lop, I love him SO much... they always look so adorably cute and innocent, it's hard to get after them when they get into mischief lolBunnies/Rabbits! HELP! ADVICE! PROS! CONS! STORES!?
pros:

small, don't take up much space

don't eat as much food (as a dog)

very, very quite

easy to see they like you too

cons:

need constant attention

can get a little messy

very delicate, be very careful how you handle them

get them at petstop, amazon petshops, pet supermarkets, breeders and rescues

go to yellowpages.com and search for your local petstores and ask for holland lops.
pros: they are sweet, cute, pretty easy to handle.

cons: they poop, and you have to clean it up. if not handled enough, get very skiddish.

you can pretty much get them at every pet store in the world. just go to a local pet store. I recomend a smaller breed if its your first. :} good luck
well, i own 2 Dwarf Bunnies. I got the on Feb 14th.

I own 1 male and 1 female. They share the same cage. A 41'; cage. They are getting spayed and neutered on April 23rd. They will be 16 weeks old. They are messy. I change their bedding 3 times a week. Mine get an unlimited supply of Timothy Hay to keep from getting hairballs, cause they do lack the ability to vomit like cats do. I feed them 15/23 Oxbow Rabbit Pellets. They also get treats every now an then. a slice of banana, i give them that once a month. I give them a whole carrot once every 2 weeks. They can also eat Strawberries, blueberries, I haven't tried blueberries yet. Once they are spayed and neutered it will be a whole lot easier to litter train them.
well as other people have already said you can buy them almost anywhere i also have a bunny named tito and he is very sweet and kind ,licks your face , and is very very sweet
sorrrry i dont know places to buy bunnies in illinois.

cuz i live in seattle.
Pro: They're very loving animals if you keep them in check.

Con: When they die, they become hard as rocks. Trust me.

Holland lops are my personal favorite.
Pro - they taste like chicken
