Fashion Line Advice HELP!!!!!?
well, after you get a fashion degree, you start drawing out your designs.

You start off small and modest- buy your fabric and supplies at sales in your local fabric stores.

Yes, your supposed to sew the WHOLE collection and present it at one times. You can get customers through promotion. I've seen new designers do small runway shows selling tickets for 5-10 dollars, and auctioning off pieces from the collection after the show.

And making yourself known is just in the quality of your work. As you do more shows, your name is spread, and if yoru lucky, you'll meet someone who'll work with you to make you bigger.

good luck!

Edit:

To make a show, you rent a place, get people for hair and makeup, and help stylists for backstage. Ive helped plan one myself and it takes anywhere from 3-6 months to plan everything out.

Alot of new designers find the need for hair/makeup/stylist positions through their friends. If none of your friends have experience with hair, have them practice on each other- All you really need is a couple of curling irons, a straightener or two, and hairspay and clips, most of which you can find through your friends. If not, all you need is a 20 dollar curling iron x3 or 4, depending how many people you have.

And as for makeup, keep it HAUTE and or couture and make it really different. Instead of bringing EVERYTHING yourself, which is really expensive, go through your friends' houses and see if they can donate a few of their items, then buy everything you dont have

The place should be predecorated with seats ready. I've actually been to one where the designer had dinner served also!

The best thing to do is to remember to keep things memorable, and unique from a lot of other designers. Have Your friends and family spread the word, or you can put up posters at public places like starbucks.

After you finish your collection just start asking friends, and family and start searching! i'm sure things will work out great.Fashion Line Advice HELP!!!!!?
There's a lot of rude people today [ignore Pressley or whatever it's name is]

First, you should finish your degree. Starting a clothing line, is no easy feat. You need a lot of money if you want to make a brand, and you'll need contacts and money if you want to promote your brand.

After you finish your Fashion Design Degree, get in touch with people in the Marketing and Fashion Design Industry. Have a talk to someone in the field who is well known and try to make a deal there - business companies can help you there.
hey ive never met anyone named edgar before. 'hey what are you wearing this evening?' 'edgar'

well for your first collection you probably will have to sew the whole thing by yourself. but take your time. theres no need to rush things youre young. besides only you yourself really knows what your vision is so that means theres really only one person to make that vision physically real (at least for your first collection. then when you become famous you get other people to do that for you)

try to get very nice fabrics high quality fabrics and start a sample sale. get friends to spread the word or blog about it or get someone you know who already has a blog to blog about it haha

custom fabrics come way later down the road. like when youre making enough money you can comfortably support yourself and your line. with that also comes hired people to sew

take a bussiness course too. you could maybe minor in it. itl help alot
You need to go to college for graphic design and all that stuff to get good at that, and then get into a buisness and then make your own fashion line its gonna take work.
try and get a job at a fashion magazine first. because that will give you the contacts and if you succeed with your own label the magazine endorsement would be useful.
put your face on the side of a freaking greyhound bus, pal.
