Travling, help advice, animal?

ok so i want this puppy from a shelter in OK but i live in MO, how much would an airline ticket cost, for about 300 miles for the pet, is there any other cheaper way of getting him here?

driving would be a better route. you can bond with the pup and be able to stop at pullout and let him/her go to the bathroom, get water, food and bonding timeTravling, help advice, animal?
Since it is in the middle of summer, i would be VERY apprehensive about shipping any animal right now. Since the animals are placed in the cargo holds, they can be very easily smothered, and will die. I live in Texas, and I know of several airlines that flat out refuse to transport animals in heat like we have right now.





The best thing for you to do would be to fly down there yourself. Pick up the pup, get an airline-approved carrier bag, and take him on the plane with you!! The bag has to fit certain dimensions, and there are always going to be a few rules to follow, but at least you wont run the risk of killing your pup.
Many breeders will ship puppies to new owners --however, you need to be sure the airline does NOT put the puppy in the CARGO area. It is very stressful for a puppy to be transported this way, but depending upon distance, a necessary evil.





The best way is to make the drive and bring the puppy home with you. This will also allow time for you to start bonding with the puppy. They are pack animals and the puppy, once removed from its mother, will want to immediately bond with its new pack -- you really need to try your best to drive to pick it up. Oklahoma to Missouri is not too bad to drive and can be done over a weekend. Be glad you are not in New York wanting a puppy in Seattle!

an airline ticket would cost (i think) around the same for a human as a dog..but call your local airport and find out


you'd also have to get it special care to get on the plane and have somebody take it off...

Well i sounds like you should drive because to drive that would take like 2 tanks of gas or less so that would be only 200 dollars compared to 300 and you would have to pay for some one to fly with your dog and driving is way less stressful on an animal!
plane would be more expensive, when you add the discomfort, the price and the person to go with the dog
