The Wii has an internal memory of 512 MB. So you won't need a SD card anytime soon.

Normally the Virtual Console games, the Browser and other WiiConnect 24 applications reside in the system's memory.

With the Wii connected to the internet, you can check the Weather or the recent news. You can use the ';Everybody votes'; channel, trade Miis with the ';Check Mii Out'; channel or send messages from one Wii to another, if you exchanged friend codes with another Wii owner.

Sometimes you will get messages from Nintendo about updates or special news and offers.

If you keep the Wii in the Connect 24 mode (yellow stand-by light), the Wii will update the news channels, exchange Miis with your friends, and show newly recieved messages with a blue glow.

Games can make use of the Wii Connect24 service. For example in Metroid Prime Corruption you can send tickets you unlocked to your friends, wich can then unlock bonus features in the game.Nintedo wii Help...Advice with Internet..?
the wii has 512mb of internal onboard memory to use for saves. you can also use an SD card for saving things to, but i dont know how that works for games.
